Renova Festival Participant Handbook & Policies
Over the years, participants of the Renova Music Festival have demonstrated exemplary behavior and performance, both on and off the stage. To ensure our continued success, the following policies are meant as a guide to treating colleagues, faculty and staff with respect and consideration.
Everyone involved at the Renova Music Festival is expected to uphold their agreement to abide by the below guidelines. The Festival reserves the right to re-evaluate a student’s place at the festival if the student’s conduct violates any of these guidelines.
Policy Guidelines

Attendance at all scheduled rehearsals, classes and performances is required. Students are expected to be punctual and treat others with respect and a collegial spirit.
In the case of illness, the staff and Music Director should be notified before any missed sessions.
In the case of a performance -related injury, temporary rest from practicing and playing is recommended in most cases, in consultation with faculty and medical personnel.

The Renova Music Festival are guests of the Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center. All participants and faculty are expected to abide by the policies set forth by the center.
Overnight guests are not permitted at the Center.
Practicing is permitted in the residence hall with the exception of “quiet hours” between 11 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., keeping in mind courtesy of other participants.
Smoking is only permitted in designated locations on the Center’s campus.
In case of policy breeches, the administrative staff of the Villa Maria Center will have final judgement on any consequences.

The Renova Music Festival conforms to all local, state, and federal laws. It is illegal for a person under 21 years of age to purchase, consume, possess, or transport any alcohol or beverages containing alcohol.
Underage drinking will result in immediate expulsion from the Festival.
Possession and use of marijuana and illegal narcotics is not permitted. Possession of these substances will result in expulsion from the Festival.

The Renova Music Festival admits students of any race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, age, marital status, family responsibility, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, veteran status, sex, or sexual orientation.

Sexual harassment, whether verbal, physical, or written, is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome or unwanted conduct of a sexual nature (verbal, written, or physical) that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment in which to, live, learn, or perform.
Violations of this policy should be communicated to a faculty or staff member and could result in expulsion from the Festival for those deemed in violation.
